Need to preserve and protect environment for future generation- Prof. Brar

Amritsar, December 18 (   Bharatsandesh news     )– A 3–week refresher course in Material Sciences (Physics, Chemistry &  Engineering Applications) was concluded here today in the UGC-Academic Staff College (ASC) of the Guru Nanak Dev University. This course was organized by the Chemistry Department of the University.
    Prof. A.S. Brar, Vice-Chancellor presided over the valedictory session. Dr. T.S. Banipal, Director, ASC welcomed the chief guest and others while Prof. Manoj Kumar, Course Coordinator detailed about the course. Prof. B.S. Randhawa, Head, Deptt. of Chemistry proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. Mohan Kumar conducted the proceedings of this valedictory session.
     Prof. Brar in his valedictory address threw the light on the need of research in the field of Biological and Material Sciences as well. He said that the materials other than plastic, metal, electronics, magnetic etc. also need to be explored and investigated.
He also highlighted the immediate urgency of recycling of waste material of all types in order to preserve the environment for the future generations. He said that the teachers as an enlightened section of the society had to take an initiative in this regard.
Prof. Banipal said that the aim of the Academic Staff College is to refresh the knowledge and competence of the teachers in their respective disciplines as well as to expand their horizons. Dr. Kamaljeet SinghDr. Suman, Dr. Vandana and other faculty members were also present
