NEW COURSE ON PUNJAB, PUNJABI AND PUNJABIYAT TO BEGIN AT PAU ON JANUARY 7

LUDHIANA, DECEMBER 18:(Bharatsandesh news):The Department of Agricultural Journalism, Languages and Culture (AJLC) of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has designed a two-week course on “Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat,” to apprise the NRIs and other aspirants of the rich cultural heritage of the Punjab state. The course, comprising 20 seats, will commence on January 7, 2013.

Divulging contours, Dr R.S. Sidhu, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, and Head of AJLC, said that the course aims at equipping the aspirants with social history and geography of Punjab with special emphasis on its culture, language, folk literature, folk art, rural games and agriculture. Besides, the aspirants will be provided an opportunity to tour the historical places like Amritsar and Anandpur Sahib, he said. Informing that the fee for the course alongwith with the lodging charges will be Rs 10,000 /-, Dr Sidhu said that the fee without accommodation will be Rs 2500/-.
