DEOs MADE OVERALL IN-CHARGE FOR SMOOTH CONDUCT OF ANNUAL EXAMINATIONS

Chandigarh, 21 Feb 2013 (BharatSandesh News):– The Punjab Education department has issued detailed instructions to check the trend of copying in annual examination of Matric and +2 classes being conducted in the month of March by Punjab School Education Board.
Disclosing this Mr. Kahan Singh Pannu, Director General School Education said that District Education Officers (DEOs) have been made over all in-charge to check the menace of copying and categorically said that in case of any laxity, the concerned officers would have to face the music. He said that no person having poor track record should be deputed in supervisory staff for these exams.
The DGSE said that material regarding examination duties would be made available by February 24 in all the districts and said that no teacher, who has been deputed as superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Supervisor or observer would be exempted from this duty.
In case of illness, the concerned teacher have to submit medical certificate duly issued by Senior Medical Officer of Government Hospitals and the concerned DEO to get this certificate verified from the Civil Surgeon and the PSEB has been authorized to change the centre superintendent from the list sent by the concerned DEO.
Mr. Pannu said that, in case of any teacher deputed for examination duty was on leave, his leave should be cancelled with immediate effect and get him joined. He said that it should be ensured that all examination centers were on ground or Ist Floor and no center should be allowed on second floor. He informed that all the Deputy Commissioners have been asked to impose section 144 of CrPC around the examination centers.
Mr. Pannu said that Controller Examinations have been directed to ensure that there should not be any helping material available in toilets or at the place of drinking water and in case any flying squad or Centre Superintendent found such material, criminal as well as departmental action would be initiated against the concerned Controller examinations. He said that all the DEOs, both Secondary as well as Elementary would regularly visit the sensitive centers and in case of copying, they would immediately cancel the paper and inform the PSEB through fax message.
He said that, in case of any teacher or employee found facilitating the copying, the PSEB and DGSE office should be informed to take departmental action and in case of serious case FIR Should be lodged against the erring officials.
