CHANDIGARH, 23 Feb 2013:– As per Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R) Policy, 1993 in respect of the Ranjit Sagar Dam Project, one member of each eligible dam Oustee family of Punjab and J&K States is to be provided employment under Punjab Government, the cut-off date for ascertaining eligibility being Jamabandi as on 01.05.1986. Accordingly all the identified families, eligible as per the aforesaid Policy, have either been provided employment or have now been issued the offer of appointment.
In addition to the above, there are large number of persons who have filed Civil Writ Petitions in the Hon’ble Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh, seeking this preferential employment but their name does NOT figure in the list of identified eligible dam Oustees supplied by the concerned Land Acquisition Officer, owing to which it is difficult to verify and settle their claim.
Therefore, through this Public Notice all persons, who have filed Civil Writ Petitions in the Hon’ble Punjab & Haryana High Court are hereby informed to attend the office of Director Plant Design RSD-Shahpurkandi Township, along with relevant documents i.e. copy of Jamabandi as on 1.5.86, Dam Oustee Certificate, land/house acquisition detail etc. in support of their claim for employment.
Any other person, not being a petitioner in the Hon’ble High Court but having claim for employment under R&R Policy 1993 may similarly attend the office of Director Plant Design, along with his claim in writing, accompanied by relevant documents as mentioned above in support of their claim for employment under R&R Policy, 1993.
Any person responding to this notice may attend the aforementioned respective office, on any working day between 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM within 30 days of the publication of this notice. Thereafter, no claim for employment will be entertained/ accepted, and the claim for employment under the R&R Policy shall be deemed to have been extinguished. Nothing in this notice shall be deemed to be creating any new right in favour of any person, beyond the eligibility criteria embodied in the R&R Policy, 1993.
