Punjab Police arrests 3 more in Fatehgarh Sahib drug recovery case

Chandigarh, 19 March 2013:– Punjab police today arrested three more persons in the Fatehgarh Sahib drug recovery case in which Anoop Singh Kahlon (a Canadian National ) had been earlier arrested and  28.6 Kg heroin had been recovered. 30 Kg raw material for production of “Ice” had also been recovered.

1. Harpreet Singh from Patiala; He was a conduit between the suppliers and those who sent and distributed the drug abroad.

2. Kirpal Singh, a retired DSP of UP Police from Meerut;- He was running a Pharmaceutical factory at Meerut and was one of the main suppliers of the raw materials, Amphatamine etc., used for production of Ice. Inspector Gurmit Singh, SHO, Khamano was camping at Meerut and adjoing areas for the last three days to apprehend retd. DSP Kirpal Singh and arrested him today.

 

3. Kulwant Singh, UK citizen, originally from Phagwara. Kulwant Singh was the organizer of the distribution network in Europe and Canada, where this gang used to send the drugs. He was arrested from Impress Hotel, Vasant Kunj road, Mahipalpur, New Delhi by a party headed by Inspector Devinder Kumar, SHO, PS Fatehgarh Sahib and S.I Sukhdev Singh, SHO, Sirhind. Delhi police has been informed, kulwant Singh was planning to fly out of the country tomorrow, his ticket and passport has been seized.

 

The Intelligence Wing of Punjab Police is doing the requisite liaison with UK and Canadian Police authorities, who have contacted the Punjab police in this regard.

Two persons arrested earlier  in this drug network (Anoop Singh Kahlon and Mani Gill) are Canadian citizens whereas Kulwant Singh, who has been  arrested today evening from Delhi is a UK citizen. Further investigations of the organization and distribution network in Europe and Canada and further to US (from Canada) are in progress
