Amritsar, April 5Prof. M.S. Hundal, Dean, Academic Affairs, Dr. Inderjit Singh, Registrar, Dr. Rajesh Kalia, President Officer’s Association, Dr. Kanwaljit Singh, former Directror Sports and Head of the Department, Mr. Balbir Singh Garcha, President Non-Teaching Association and Sports Department of the Guru Nanak Dev University have expressed their grief over the sad and sudden demise of Dr. Gurpreet Kaur Dhillon, Former Deputy Director and Head of the Department who passed away yesterday evening in Australia.In his condolence message, Prof Hundal, acknowledged the services of Dr. Dhillon rendered to the University especially in the Department of Sports. He said that with the demise of Dr. Dhillon creating a big void in the discipline of Sports. Registrar, Dr. Inderjit Singh said that Dr. Dhillon served as Head of Department of Sports. She joined this Department in September 1978 and retired in September 2008.Earlier, Dr. H.S. Randhawa, Deputy Director Sports and Head of theDepartment along with other members of the Department also condoled the demise of Dr. Dhillon and placed on record the invaluable services rendered by her for building the Department.
