Chandigarh, May 21- Punjab Congress today paid floral tributes to former Prime Minister Mr. Rajiv Gandhi on his 22nd death anniversary at a function held in Congress Bhawan here.
PPCC President Mr.Partap Singh Bajwa and other state leaders remembered the departed leader. Mr. Bajwa in a message said that Mr.Rajiv Gandhi was great visionary and founder of new India. He said Mr.Gandhi made India self dependent on new technology and telecommunication revolution is one fine example of it. He said the untimely demise of Mr Gandhi was a big loss to nation and Congress party. He however siad that Congress would continue to follow ideals of Mr.Gandhi.
Floral tributes were offered at the portrait of Mr. Gandhi by Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi, MLA & Vice President, PPCC, Mr. Rajpal Singh, Mr. Rampal Dhaipi, Mr. Paramjit Singh Ex-General Secretaries PPCCC, Mrs. Krishna Mittu, Mrs. Rajni Mehta Members PPCC, Mr Jang Bahadur, Gen. Secy, SC Deptt. PPCC, Mrs. Romila Bansal, Media Secretary Mahila Congress PPCC, Mr. Gurpratap Singh Mann, Mr Rajwant Singh Shergill and a large number of Congress workers from parts of Punjab.
