3-Week Special Summer School inaugurated at GNDU

Amritsar, May 30(          Bharatsandesh news              )– A "3-Week Special Summer School” organised by Academic Staff College (ASC) of the Guru Nanak Dev University was inaugurated here today at the Academic Staff College of the University. As many as 38 participants from various parts of the Country are participating. 
    Prof. Rajinderjit Pawar, Dean, College Development Council of the University inaugurated the course. Dr. Mohan Kumar, Deputy Director, Academic Staff College welcomed the chief guest and others.
Prof. Pawar in her inaugural address highlighted the importance of such UGC sponsored courses for the teachers of higher education. She said that the learning had always been a two-way process. It is imperative to narrow down the gap between the various disciplines in the present educational scenario, she added.
She also expressed her concern over the declining moral & ethical values in the present generation. She emphasized that the moral values cannot be taught, on the contrary these have to be learnt and acquired. She said that the teachers being the enlightened section of the society and the parents have to play a significant role in inculcating moral values in the younger generation. 
She also brought forth the various political, social, economical challenges being faced by our society and counseled the participants to rise to the occasion and realize their obligation towards the society in addition to their professional duty.
Dr. Mohan said the participants to make optimum use of the facilities offered by the Academic Staff College in order to enhance their knowledge and pedagogical skills. He said that it is essential to know something of everything rather than everything of something.
