CLP shall seek a special debate on fast increasing graph of unemployment during the next session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha-.

19 Aguest(Bharat Sandesh)The Congress Legislative Party leader Sunil Jakhar today inauguratedthe campaign by leading a march of unemployed youths to get theirnames registered in the Employment office at Abohar. He said that CLP shall seek a special debate on fast increasing graph of unemployment during the next session of Punjab Vidhan Sabha, said CLP. Jakhar said that 40 percent of unemployed youths make 16 percent of 2.77 crore population in Punjab but the state govt that had turned a blind eye mischievously put the number at 3.55 lakh as on Feb 28,2013. In other developing countries the govts make untiring efforts to explore avenues of employment if the graph goes up to 5 percent. Regretfully the SAD BJP alliance retained its ruling status by

promising to pay Rs one thousand as monthly unemployment allowance but the Deputy Chief Minister S. Sukhbir Singh Badal backtracked when the matter was raised in the Vidhan Sabha, he said.

He further said that the names of unemployed youths would be got

registered in all the employment offices across the state, CLP will

then mount pressure on the govt by raising the issue with the

permission of the Speaker in Vidhan Sabha. The party will urge the

govt to remove bans on recruitment in all its departments, boards,

corporations and aided educational institutions. All the Congress

legislatures are being requested to launch the unemployment youth

registration campaign in their respective constituency.

CLP leader assured hundreds of youths that pressure would be mounted on the SAD BJP alliance govt to fulfill the election promise by sanctioning Rs 1000 as monthly allowance for each unemployed youth. The govt will also be urged to sanction Rs 225 to each matriculate handicapped, Rs 150 to general category youth, Rs 600 to each graduate handicapped and Rs 200 to other categories of graduates under the provisions of the notification issued by the Labour and Employment Generation and Training Department, Punjab under the EducatedUnemployed Personnel Act 1978. The Act makes it mandatory for each govt to release allowance to each unemployed youth who had been registered in the Employment offices.
