“Harbingers of Freshness” ,freshers function was organized in BBK DAV College,
Amritsar. The event proved as a perfect platform to welcome new beginners to explore
their abilities and show their charm with grace of beauty and brains. The event started
with recitation of Ved Mantra by singing group of college.
Principal Dr. Neelam Kamra welcomed the students and motivated students with
encouraging words to become successful in their lives. She also focused on Add-On
courses running in college plus benefits offered to the students. She concluded her speech
with enthusiastic words, “if you have talent, we give you wings to fly”
About 150 students were awarded prizes by Principal for their remarkable performance
in various departmental Talent Hunt search competitions like Cartooning, Poster-Making,
Play, Quiz, Music & Dance.
Installation of various College committees also took place like Youth Welfare Club,
Student Council and Discipline team. Deepika Shingari was installed as Head girl of
college & Himani Sharma was installed as President Youth Welfare Club.
Poonam Kohli Discipline Dean focused on importance of discipline in college life and
discouraged students for participation in irrelevant activities.
Modeling was one of the main events of the day judged by Mrs. Anterpreet Kaur
(Journalism and Mass Communication), Mrs. Benu (Home Science dept.), Anjana Bedi
(Commerce Dept). Three titles of Miss Gracious, Miss Proficient and Miss Imperforate
was awarded to Drishti Mishra, Kiranbir, Saundarya Mahajan respectively.
Dr. (Mrs) Neelam Kamra crowned the students with their titles. Dr. Komal Sekhon, Dean
Youth Welfare extended a vote of thanks. Other who were present on the occasion were
Mrs. Manjot Sandhu, Dr.(Mrs) Anita Narinder, Mr. Akshay Kumar, Mr. Davinder, Mrs.
Anjana Khanna, Mrs. Aditi Jain & Mrs. Binnie Sharma.
Various dance and singing performances were presented by talented stars of the college
Arsh, Raman Preet, Shreya.
It was a complete successful event that was a new wave of zeal to welcome fresh stars of
the college.
