Guru Nanak Dev University Placements 184 selected during first phase

 Amritsar, September 11(Bharat Sandesh)– As many as 184 students of the batch 2014 from various Departments of the Guru Nanak Dev University have been placed with World Renowned Indian Multinational IT Company – Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), New Delhi through campus placements. These students have been selected before the completion of their formal studies through the placement drive conducted here today by the Placement Department of the University.

            Dr. Hardeep Singh, Professor Incharge, Placement said that a strong team of 38 members from TCS visited the University campus for recruitments. He said that the selection was based online test followed by Technical and HR Interviews. He said that the selected students were offered 3.18 lac per annum. These new recruits would join with TCS in the month of June 2014 after completion of their formal studies, he added.

He said that the present 184 students selected are from Batch 2014 of B.Tech.–Computer Science (CS), B.Tech.–Electronics, MCA, M.Tech.–IT and M.Tech–CS from all the 3 campuses of the University i.e. Amritsar, Jalandhar and Gurdaspur.

He said that many companies of international repute like Capgemini, Headstrong, Infogain, Nagarro and Amdocs etc. are likely to visit the University for Campus Placements of batch 2014. 

He said that it is pertinence to say that 476 students of Batch 2013 from different courses have already been placed in various multinational companies till 31st August, 2013.

He said that all the previously selected students performed Volunteers duties with great dedication for the successful placements of their other classmates. Active participation of students, academic input by able faculty and infrastructure input by the University Authorities and above all the interest of Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar are the main reason for these quality placements.
