Final Youth Festival of GNDU concluded ,APJ College of Fine Arts won the overall championship trophy

 

Amritsar, November  2 (  Bharatsandesh news   )–  Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar won the overall championship trophy of the final Youth Festival of the Guru Nanak Dev University. This Festival was concluded here today in the Dashmesh Auditorium of the University and organized by Department of Youth Welfare of the University. As many as 1000 student artists from various affiliated colleges of the University participated.

            BBK DAV Collelge for women,Amritsar was adjudged  Runners up in this festival while Shanti Devi Arya Mahila College, Dina Nagar finished third in this festival.

            Hon’ble Finance Minister, Govt. of  Punjab, Sardar Parminder Singh Dhindsa was the chief guest and give away trophies to the winners. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar presided over. Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director Youth Welfare welcomed the chief guest and others. Dr. Inderjit Singh, Registrar presented vote of thanks on this occasion. Deans and Heads of various Departments and principals of affiliated colleges were also present. 

            Mr. Dhindsa while blessing the student artists congratulated the University Authorities for the all around development of the University in the field of academics, culture and sports. He said that Punjab Govt. would released the balance grant to the university very shortly. He said that memories of the days spend by the students have long impact in their lives. He exhorted the students to participate in this type of activities to for their overall development.

            Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Principal APJ College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar and student artists of the college received the overall championship trophy from the chief guest. It is pertinence to say that this is the only college affiliated to University which won this converted trophy for a record no. of 14 times consecutively. For the first time Mr. Anadi Mishra of the college has won ten first positions in this festival. Prof. Brar Honoured Mr. Dhindsa with memento and shawl on behalf of the University.
