Amritsar, September 10, 2015 (bharatsandeshnews) – Prof. A.S. Brar, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University constituted anti-ragging committee and anti ragging squads for departments, hostels and functions at the University level to curb the menace of ragging in the University.
Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar said that committee includes Vice-Chancellor as Chariman; Dean Academic Affairs as Member and Dean Student’s Welfare as Convener.
He said that committee also includes Naib Tehsildar, Amritsar-2 as nominee of Deputy Commissioner; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Police, Crime, Amritsar as nominee of SSP; Renowed NGO from Amritsar, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Chairman, Bhagat Puran Singh, All India Pingalwara Society, Amritsar; one journalist from Amritsar, Ms. Usmeet Kaur of Hindustan Times; representative of non-teaching staff, Mr. Ashwani Kumar, PA to Vice-Chancellor; representative of faculty, Prof. Subodh Kumar from Chemistry Department; one member member of students’ representative body (male & female each) from SRB Body; Mr. Manish Pardeshi from Sports Medicine & Physiotherapy and Ms. Gurpeet Kaur from Punjab School of Economics as member of first year student (male & female each); parents of two senior students named Mr. Maninder Pal Singh from University Business School & Mr. Tejpartap Singh Gill from Food Science & Technology and parents of two freshers named Mr. Surinder Kumar from University Business School and Mr. Ashwani Kumar from Hindi Deparment of the University.
