Youth NGO PAHAL organised its 19th foundation day

 Youth NGO PAHAL organised its 19th foundation day and Punjab Gramin Bank’s 10th foundation day by an event where as many as 250 rural ladies participated. A micro credit distribution camp was organised and loans worth Rs. 40 lakhs were distributed to members of 15 Joint Liability Groups and 11 Self Help Groups. Chief Guest of the event Mr.Arun Sharma Chairman Punjab Gramin Bank said that PGB is helping all sectors of the society by providing sustainable credit options to all sectors of society. He said that the loans that will be distributed to the needy women will help them to raise their financial standard and hence, be financially independent. Mr. B.K. Handa, Regional Manager PGB said that Banks work depends on the growth of their customers so banks always wish for the welfare of the beneficiaries. He enlightened all rural folk with the facilities provided by their bank so that they can avail every kind of service being offered by banks. While throwing light upon the works done by PAHAL NGO in the formation of Self-help and Joint Liability groups, Prof. Lakhbir Singh President PAHAL said that the Group formation and bank linkage helps the rural masses to develop in a holistic way. He also appealed all the women to use the loan money wisely so that they can start income generating activities. He said that PAHAL has been able to provide blood to more than 60000 people at the times of need and planted more than 5 lakh trees. He stated that the value of small savings by the ladies of 350 SHGs amounts to approx. 5 crore. The beneficiaries of the above loans included ladies from Vil. Kala Bakra, Sitalpur, RaniBhatti, Jallowal, Nizamdinpur, Dhogri, Faridpur, Noorpur, Mehmadpur, Dolikesundarpur, Nahal, Udesian, Alawalpur, Madar, Mansoorpur, Jagrawanand the loans were sanctioned by the Adampur, Noorpur and Kishangarh Branches of Punjab Gramin Bank. The Branch Managers Mr.Satnam Singh Ubhi, Baljinder Singh and Rajeev Sohiwere also honoured for their work. Liakatbir Singh hosted the event which was concluded by words of gratitude from Ms. Reema Bhatti and S. Malkit Singh former sarpanch. Among others, S. Hardev Singh chairman Gurudwara Committee, Chandan Singh Bisht, Gulshan Kumar Bhargava, Pardeep Kumar, Jaspreet Singh Baweja played a valuable role in the event.
