JALANDHAR SEPTEMBER 14:

The governor of Punjab and Haryana and administrator of Chandigarh, Prof Kaptan Singh Solanki today called upon students to set up the aim of education for character building in order to evolve an academically and morally a healthy society.

Speaking on the occasion of 36th Convocation of Apeejay College of Fine Arts here today, the Governor has given the four D formula to the students for success in life, which includes Determination, Dedication, Discipline and Dynamism. He said that the students must follow the path shown by the Guru Gobind Singh Ji who sacrificed his entire family to achieve social justice by raising his voice against barbaric rulers of his times.

Congratulating the Nation on the first Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the Governor said that the holy Granth has given us the message for social equality, high character and positivism.       

                                    

He said that most important was to expand, build and strengthen the educational institutions by working with zeal and commitment and with a sense of belongings. He said that education is a continuous process that keeps on enriching the lives of all around.

The Governor said that India has always stood high in education since ancient times. “We were the leaders and the knowledge givers,” he said. He also said that India gave the University system to the whole world. Knowledge in India was available since pre-Vedic period.

Presenting the degrees to 588 young graduates and congratulating the researchers and award/ medal winners on achieving the academic excellence, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, said that all of the achievers have reached an important milestone in their lives today. He called upon the teaching fraternity to impart best possible education to the students and they should consider education as a mission rather than treating it casually. “They have a much bigger responsibility in shaping the destiny of the country in shaping the future of young brains and forming healthy society”, he added.

Appreciating the role of college management for specialization in the domain of Fine Arts, Applied Arts, Performing Arts and Visual Arts, Prof. Solanki said for imparting quality education the UGC has declared Apeejay College of fine Arts as “College with potential for Excellence “ and NAAC has rated it with A+ Grade . He said no doubt that the institutions performance is outstanding but still needs to tread for ahead to secure top ranking in the country.

Prominent amongst others who were present on the occasion included, M P Singh Principal Secretary to Governor , Mrs. Neelam Kashi Secretary to Governor , K K Yadav Deputy commissioner , Yurinder Singh Hair Commissioner Police , Sushma Paul president APJ education society , Aditya Berlia co founder and Pro -Chancellor Apeejay Satya University .
